We booked a Privilege room and although the extra features were nice I'm not sure it was worth the extra money. What I enjoyed most about the whole Privilege package was the separate area at the beach because we could always find an available lounge chair. Our room was very big, clean and right next to the beach. We had a view of the pool even though I'd asked for a view of the ocean...... The food could have been much better..... I guess we can't complain for the amount of money we paid but I'd rather pay a little more and get better food. We tried several of the restaurants and weren't impressed. The Bodegon was terrible.... We found that the buffet was always a safer bet. We went bowling several times and had fun. The quality of the drinks were very good and not watered down. The nightly entertainment was performed by the hotel staff and they did the best they could...... My teens didn't think that the hotel had enough entertainment geared towards their age group. There were really no hotel planned activities for teens during the day or night (maybe we just couldn't find them?) We did the ATV excursion that was fun and gave us an opportunity to see a little bit of the Dominican Republic. Golfing was good as well, but the golf course by the hotel was in bad condition. We went to other nearby golf courses. All in all I'm not sure I'd go back to this hotel because of the food. Everything else though was top rate!

The hotel is beautiful and the pool huge and inviting. The beach is gorgeous with white sand and turquoise water. The buffet is really good but the a la carte restaurant I tried (italian)was mediocre. Despite check in at 3:00 pm we did not get to our room until 6:00 pm. Our roo was not ready so they sent us to eat. Then they gave us a room at about 4:45 pm but the keys did not work. We called the reception and they said they will send someone. After 20 minutes we had to ask a maid to open the room for us because hoever thy sent did not how up. She was kind and opened the room but the jacuzzi did not work so we had to walk with all our bags back to the reception to get a new room (the hotel is huge and has a shuttle that transport guests wihin the hotel areas). Finally, the new room was ok and they allowed us to check out at 3:00 pm instead of 1:00 pm for all the inconvenience.

We had a really enjoyable stay. The staff was extremely courteous and humorous. The food was great - but stay away from the La Brasa Grill. You have to try the personal photo shoot offered by the resort - Irene is the best! We had a great romantic, relaxing, fun-filled vacation - and would love to go back.
